MANILA, Philippines —  Radyo5 True FM kicked off its university tour, Usapang Totoo, at the Bulacan State University () in Malolos on Sept. 18.

The event featured speakers who provided a deeper understanding of the Philippine radio landscape and helped students develop critical thinking skills in media and information literacy through MediaQuest’s corporate sustainability advocacy, Thinkamuna Pilipinas.

The tour featured a series of informative lectures from experts in media and communications, including Mediaquest Holdings’ Charles Lejano and Radyo5 True FM personalities Jun Banaag, Cherry Bayle, Laila Pangilinan,  Arnold Rei, Chiqui Vergel and Atom Yango.

Aside from the lectures, the event gave students an opportunity to become disc jockeys and voice actors, learn about radio and digital operations process and formats as well as obtain experience in creating audio content.

“We are thankful to Radyo5 True FM for sharing time with our students. The event opened their eyes to the current trends and opportunities in radio,” Maria Bulaong, dean of BulSU College of Arts and Letters, said.

Bulaong said media and information literacy is essential for students to thrive in today’s interconnected world.

“BulSU remains committed to promoting media and information literacy, as well as empowering students to become informed and responsible digital citizens,” she said.
