ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A 34-year-old vlogger was charged for recruiting minors into prostitution in Malay town in Aklan and forcing them to perform on video lewd acts.

Lt. Honeylyn Magallanes, women and children’s protection desk chief of Malay police, said a case for violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 was filed yesterday against an alias Bong.

Magallanes said Bong was arrested in a sting at a resort in Barangay Motag in Malay late Tuesday after police received a tip that the suspect was selling lewd videos online, aside from pimping boys to gay clients.

Police also rescued two boys aged 14 and 15 during the sting.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were a mobile phone, P396 in cash, six assorted identification cards, two condoms and a sling bag.

Magallanes said the Malay police station is also checking if the suspect, who is detained with no bail recommended, had victimized other minors in the area.
