Valenzuela gas station padlocked
MANILA, Philippines — A gasoline station believed to be selling smuggled fuel in Valenzuela City was shut down by authorities on Thursday.
Personnel of the Bureau of Customs inspected Roden refilling gas station in Barangay Ugong, based on a mission order issued by BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
Three of the four tanks of the establishment failed the fuel marking test conducted by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service.
The three tanks contained 19,196 liters of premium gasoline, 18,680 liters of unleaded gasoline and 19,098 liters of blended diesel.
The remaining tank that stored 4,000 liters of blended diesel passed the fuel marking test, the BOC said.
“The inspection was done to ensure that the fuel products being sold to consumers are safe and have been properly tested,” Rubio said.
Fuel markers are used to guarantee product integrity and protect against counterfeiting and tax fraud, he said.
