SMC donates land to Valenzuela school

MANILA, Philippines — Conglomerate San Miguel Corp. (SMC) donated yesterday seven parcels of land to the Valenzuela City government for the expansion and development of the Gen. T. De Leon National High School.

The SMC, headed by its president and chief executive officer Ramon Ang, donated the property spanning 4,305 square meters.

Mayor Weslie Gatchalian and San Miguel Foundation chairperson Cecile Ang signed the deed of donation at city hall yesterday.

Gatchalian thanked the SMC for the donation, saying the land would benefit 6,169 students.

The expansion includes the construction of four-story 16-classroom buildings, which would benefit 2,880 students.

Also in the works is an amphitheater, which will serve as a multipurpose event center.
