MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated shabu valued at more than P3.6 million during separate anti-narcotics operations in Manila over the weekend.

Personnel of the Manila Police District’s drug enforcement unit recovered at least 515 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P3.5 million during a sting at the corner of Carlos Palanca street and Rizal Avenue in Barangay 306, Quiapo.

Probers said the drugs were seized from Charito Ampad Balawag, 24, of Baseco Compound in Tondo.

Balawag allegedly sold shabu for P40,000 to a policeman who posed as buyer.

Police arrested four other drug suspects in Pandacan.

Regino Mallari Ibay, 51; Ver Carlo Villar Castillo, 35; Jerry Villaflor Vengano, 28, and Emilia Allawan Bello, 48, allegedly yielded six sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P163,200.

Ibay reportedly sold P500 worth of shabu to a police officer.
