2 shot dead by drunk police captain in Cotabato

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Policemen in Kabacan town in Cotabato arrested their own deputy police chief who killed two persons inside a videoke bar yesterday.

Maj. Maxim Peralta, Kabacan town police chief, told reporters that Capt. Romel Magdato Guhiling surrendered and had himself detained after shooting Akmad Ali Salimula and Mama Sandigan during a heated argument inside the bar in Barangay Osias.

Witnesses and barangay officials who responded to the incident said Guhiling also shot Norhan Katom Makakua, a companion of the slain victims, who is recuperating in a hospital.
