Half kilo of shabu seized in PDEA-BARMM entrapment operation

COTABATO CITY — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency confiscated P3.4 million worth of shabu from a dealer who fell in an entrapment operation in Malabang, Lanao del Sur on Wednesday.

Gil Cesario Castro, director of PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, told reporters on Thursday that the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the 40-year-old Amenola Sabdullah was premised on tips from Maranao informants about his illegal activities.

Plainclothes PDEA-BARMM agents and operatives from different police units under the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region immediately frisked and detained Sabdullah after turning over to them half a kilo of shabu, worth P3.4 million, during clandestine tradeoff on Wednesday in a secluded area in Barangay Bacayawan in Malabang.

Castro said personnel of the Malabang Municipal Police Station and the office of Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr. supported the sting that led to Sabdullah’s arrest and confiscation from him of P3.4 million worth of shabu.

The PDEA-BARMM director said Sabdullah is now in the custody of PDEA-BARMM, to be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
