COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A barangay chairman and his wife were shot dead in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao del Norte on Sunday.
Esmael Latip Mustapha of Barangay Bulibod and his wife, Rahima, died at the scene of the shooting that occurred in their village, according to Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, Bangsamoro police director.
The victims were walking home when they were killed by unidentified assailants.
Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
