MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has declared Aug. 20 as special non-working days in Gasan town in Marinduque and Lucena City in Quezon province.

Lucena will mark its 63rd Charter anniversary as provided under Proclamation 640 signed on July 29 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Meanwhile, the municipality of Gasan will celebrate its 415th founding anniversary, according to Proclamation 644 signed by Bersamin on Aug. 5.

“The declaration of special holidays gives residents in both areas an opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebrations,” Malacañang said.

Early this year, the Palace issued Memorandum Order 20 strengthening the rules for the filing of requests to declare special non-working days or holidays.
