Hearings set for wage increase in Central Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — A series of public hearings will be held in different parts of Central Visayas this month to determine the sentiments of stakeholders on the adjustment of the region’s minimum wage rate, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Region VII said.
In a public notice, the RTWPB 7 said there would be five hearings in Cebu, Negros Oriental and Bohol provinces from Aug. 20 to Sept. 4.
“The public hearings shall be conducted to ensure that all sectors and parties, who stand to be directly affected by the board’s decision, are given the widest opportunity to be heard,” the wage board said.
In Cebu, the public hearings are set on Aug. 20 at DepEd Ecotech Center in Cebu City, Aug. 28 at Balamban Municipal Hall and Aug. 30 at the Capitancillo Cafe and Restaurant in Bogo City.
