MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Valenzuela has beefed up its emergency response capabilities with the acquisition of 33 fire trucks worth P95.69 million.

Mayor Weslie Gatchalian and Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian led the blessing and turnover ceremony of the fire trucks in Barangay Dalandanan yesterday morning.

The mayor said the fire trucks, each costing P2.89 million, were acquired through the funding of the office of the senator.

The fire trucks are specifically designed for narrow roads, which Gatchalian said would ensure that all areas in Valenzuela have access to prompt and efficient fire services.

Each fire truck features a 1,000-liter capacity water tank, a portable fire pump, a multi-functional warning blinker and a compact for tight-road access.

The fire trucks also have rugged weather-resistance enclosures.
