PNP, Napolcom commend wounded cops

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The Philippine National Police and the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Calabarzon yesterday commended the courage and bravery of two policemen who were wounded while serving a warrant for the arrest of a suspected gun-for-hire in San Juan, Batangas last Sunday.

Owen De Luna, Napolcom Calabarzon director, said the PNP and Napolcom would extend all the support to Executive Master Sgt. Reynaldo Red and Staff Sgt. Francis Olave, both members of the Regional Intelligence Division, while they recuperate.

“Our law enforcers are also authorized to use reasonable force in order to defend life or liberty to protect our community against criminal elements, organized or unorganized. We salute the leadership of Calabarzon police director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas in the proper enforcement of the law,” De Luna told The STAR.
