MANILA, Philippines —  Two foreign nationals said to be working for a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) facility were apprehended at a house allegedly owned by former presidential spokesman Harry Roque in an exclusive subdivision in Benguet over the weekend.

Cambodian Khuon Moeurn, 37, and Chinese woman Wang Keping, 35, were arrested by agents of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI)’s intelligence division unit in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

According to Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, the target of the operation was a Chinese woman said to be connected to the raided POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.

Instead, agents of the PAOCC and the BI found Moeurn and Wang at a house at Pinewoods subdivision allegedly owned by Roque in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba town.

The BI did not confirm if Roque is the owner of the property.

“No official information was received by the BI regarding this matter,” BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said.

However, an intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said residents in the area confirmed that Roque’s wife Maila owned the house.
