6 cooling towers at NAIA to be installed

MANILA, Philippines — Six new cooling towers will be installed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 from July 16 to 17, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

Around 27,000 passengers on 117 flights at the NAIA 1 may experience discomfort due to reduced air circulation during the 12-hour installation, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

The centralized cooling system will be shut down to facilitate the installation, according to MIAA general manager Eric Ines.

Portable air conditioning units will be deployed, Ines said.
