Newly-minted ARQ Sports Golf Team makes podium finish in MIGC tourney
CEBU, Philippines — They re just newly formed but the ARQ Sports Golf Team immediately made their presence felt on the fairways.
Skippered by Jason Arquisola, the ARQ parbusters bagged the second runner-up trophy in the Mactan Island Golf Course (MIGC) 2nd Quarter PPH/APP and 35th Inter-Club Golf Tournament staged last July 12-13 at the Gen Benito N Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Arquisola, a well known figure in Cebu sports being a staunch supporter of boxing and basketball, strut his wares on the greens alongside his estemeed teammates Jerry Maratas, Leslie Anthony Molina, Arnold Gonzalodo, Jeric Rei Abutazil, Romeo Aguilon Jr., and Jonathan Lure ana.
On top of their team accomplishment, Maratas, a multi-sport athlete who holds the distinction for being the longest serving president of the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA), also emerged as champion in the Class A division after garnering a gross score of 76 and a net score of 65.
Aguilon finished first runner-up in the same category with a net score of three under par.
