MANILA, Philippines — Emergency response and public safety technology firm Next Generation Advanced (NGA) 911 opened its head office in Quezon City.
In a press release on Saturday, the firm said that it inaugurated its head office in Quezon City in June.
The firm’s emergency response system was first incorporated in Morong, Rizal in May 2024.
Following Morong is Cebu City which incorporated the firm’s systems also this month.
Cagayan de Oro City and Alaminos, Pangasinan are next in line for the activation of the system, according to NGA.
The firm was founded by Don Ferguson, who was part of the technology and innovation team under former U.S. President Barack Obama, responsible for modernizing public safety communications.
NGA is recognized worldwide for its innovation in emergency calling technology and as a leader in next-generation 911 emergency communications.
The NGA 911 system is based on industry standards established by the National Emergency Number Association in the United States and the European Emergency Number Association.
Utilized in the United States, this technology has revolutionized emergency communications by employing internet protocol technology to send voice, text and video messages between callers and emergency responders.
The tech offers real-time data on callers' locations and conditions, aiding first responders in making more informed decisions during emergencies. — with reports from the STAR
