MANILA, Philippines — Seven people accused of illegally occupying a house in Quezon City were arrested yesterday.

The standoff lasted for 12 hours when the suspects went to the house and barricaded themselves in it.

Police officers at the scene said one of the suspects showed a document that allegedly proved their ownership of the house.

Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said the incident was a land dispute but did not give other details

Members of the QCPD’s special weapons and tactics team arrested the suspects shortly before 6 p.m.

The suspects, whose identities are being withheld, were brought to the QCPD Station 8 for investigation.
