MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) discovered yesterday a parcel containing 3,742 tablets of the party drug ecstasy that had been abandoned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)’s Central Mail Exchange Center.

BOC and NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group said the tablets, valued at P6.4 million, were declared as a “shoe rack” shipped by Lambert Louis of Belgium to Maritoni Macainan Bacangoy of Fairways Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

BOC-NAIA district collector Yasmin Mapa turned over the tablets to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposition and filing of charges against those involved in the illegal shipment.

Meanwhile, anti-narcotics police confiscated methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P1.15 million in three stings in Quezon City and Marikina yesterday.

In Marikina, around 90 grams of shabu with a street value of P612,000 were confiscated from Samuel Borja, 54, and Crisanto Felicio, 35, in Barangay Nangka at around 12:45 a.m., National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.

Two more drug busts in Quezon City resulted in the confiscation of shabu valued at P544,000.

Alleged online seller Raul Declaro, 44, was arrested in Barangay Sangandaan at around 3:30 a.m.

Colle Andan, said to be a street-level pusher, was reportedly caught with 30 grams of shabu valued at P204,000 in Barangay Tandang Sora at around 12:30 a.m.
