Lightning kills 6 in CL
MANILA, Philippines — Six people died after they were struck by lightning in Pulilan, Bulacan and in Pampanga.
Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the victims in Pulilan as Rexter Enriquez, 16; Roxane Enriquez, 12, and April Almorade, 11.
Initial investigation showed that the three were playing under a mango tree in Barangay Inaon on Wednesday when they decided to go home as the sky darkened. Lightning struck as the victims were walking home.
The three were taken to the Dr. Magdalena Reyes Hospital in Barangay Poblacion, where they were declared dead on arrival.
In Pampanga, a belated report said three people died when lightning struck while they were in their hut in Sitio Pitak, Barangay Planas in Porac town on Monday.
Police said Noel Ocampo, 57; his wife Marina, 52, and their son Francis Brintel, 14, died at the scene.
