MANILA, Philippines — A 34-year-old man was arrested after he threatened a brother of his former partner with a handgun in Quezon City on Friday.
Thor Patonilla Jr., a truck driver, was apprehended by police after he went berserk in Barangay Sauyo at around 12:30 a.m., Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said.
Maranan said the suspect went to the house of his ex-girlfriend, but he went crazy when his former lover was nowhere to be found.
The brother of Patonilla’s ex-girlfriend tried to pacify him, but he pulled out a handgun and pointed the weapon at the victim.
Police responded to the scene and placed the suspect under arrest. Seized from him was a handgun loaded with four bullets.
Patonilla is facing criminal cases of alarm and scandal, grave threat and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition before the office of the city prosecutor.
