MANILA, Philippines — A businesswoman was injured after her sport utility vehicle was hit by a tanker truck in Quezon City yesterday.

The victim, a 34-year-old resident of Valenzuela City, was in her Ford Territory “in a stationary position” along Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Bahay Toro when the truck rear-ended her vehicle, police reported.

The report did not specify whether the vehicles involved in the collision were stuck in heavy traffic or their drivers were waiting for traffic light to turn green.

The victim’s vehicle was pushed forward and hit a dump truck.

A rescue team brought the victim to the Metro North Medical Center for medical treatment.

The tanker truck’s driver, 53-year-old Reynaldo Nituda, was brought to the police station for investigation.

He is being held on charges of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury and damage to property.
