Guard nabbed for robbing apartelle’s cashier

MANILA, Philippines — A security guard was arrested after he allegedly robbed an apartelle’s cashier and assaulted a girl in Barangay Gulod, Quezon City on Thursday.

Lynard Singco was apprehended by police after he forcibly took the cell phone of Gulod Apartelle’s cashier in Barangay Gulod at around 9:40 p.m., National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.

Nartatez said the suspect also hit a 16-year-old girl before he was apprehended by police patrolling the area.

The lawmen recovered the victim’s cell phone worth P7,000 and an 11-inch knife from the suspect.

Singco is facing criminal charges of robbery and physical injuries in relation to Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Law, before the office of the city prosecutor.
