P308.8 million marijuana destroyed in Kalinga

MANILA, Philippines — Marijuana plants with an estimated value of P308.8 million were uprooted and destroyed in Kalinga on Monday.

The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group said the raids were carried out by PDEG operatives and police officers from other units in eight plantation sites in Kalinga.

Marijuana plants worth P258.8 million went up in smoke in seven plantations in Barangay Buscalan.

Marijuana plants and dried marijuana leaves valued at P50 million were destroyed in Barangay Loccong.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. David Peredo ordered a manhunt for the cultivators of the marijuana plantations.
