BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Kennon Road is now open to light vehicles, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways.

The DPWH office in the Cordilleras said a one-way traffic scheme has been imposed for motorists going to and from this city while a rock shed is being constructed on road section Camp 6 in Tuba, Benguet.

DPWH-Cordillera project engineer Alvin Dulnuan said landslides and unstable ground caused by typhoons and strong rain have delayed the construction of the rock shed.

Dulnuan said road project, which is worth P246 million, is expected to be completed by September.

Kennon Road is one of the major roads leading to this city and Benguet. It is the shortest route from Rosario, La Union at only 33.7 kilometers.
