MANILA, Philippines —  Just like tobacco products, e-cigarette or vape products available in the local market shall contain graphic health warnings soon, according to the Department of Health.

The DOH has released the first set of graphic health warning (GHW) templates for vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products as well as novel tobacco products.

“The new first set of GHW templates for vaporized products shall be in full effect on May 12, 2024,” the DOH announced in an advisory.

Manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers of vaporized nicotine, non-nicotine and novel tobacco products that fail to comply with the GHW shall pay a fine ranging from P2 million to P5 million.

The DOH said non-compliant manufacturers, distributors and retailers also face imprisonment of up to six years and cancellation of their license.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue  may also ban or seize vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products without proper GHWs.

Guilty foreign national officers may also be deported for violation of the GHW requirement.

The DOH urged the public to report violations of the GHW regulation directly to the Department of Trade and Industry.
