MANILA, Philippines — The government is rushing the completion of the Carmona-Biñan diversion road project to ease traffic in these areas in Laguna.

The Biñan section of the project is now 80 percent complete and is expected to be finished next month, according to Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan.

The project involves opening and concreting of over 2.3 kilometers of land, widening of existing roads, and construction of drainage, slope protection structures and a bridge.

“The diversion road will link Governor’s Drive to Mamplasan Rotunda, and provide an alternate route for commuters who are using the Carmona-Timbao Road, which is the only public road that connects the two cities at present,” Bonoan said.

The Biñan section is being implemented by the Department of Public works and Highways-Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon). It costs P86.8 miliion and is funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act.
