MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Caloocan got a P1-million grant to boost its implementation of existing vaccine initiatives against pertussis or whooping cough.

Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan lauded the Caloocan City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCFCCC) for the financial assistance and for always supporting their programs for the city.

He said the CCFCCC not only focuses on business but also on protecting the health and welfare of Caloocan residents.

The local chief executive is hoping the chamber will continue its partnership with the city government. He also urged residents to take precautions against pertussis.

The local chief executive hoped for the chamber to continue its partnership with the city government and likewise reiterated his call on his constituents to take personal precautions against pertussis.

“Even if we have a vaccination program against pertussis, they should not forget to be responsible in taking care of your health and that of your family,” Malapitan said.
