P680,000 shabu seized in Muntinlupa

MANILA, Philippines — Police seized 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P680,000 in Muntinlupa yesterday.

Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Capital Region Police Office director, said the illegal drugs were seized from two people caught in a sting in Barangay Sucat at around 5:43 a.m.

Nartatez said Joehar Sangki, 33, and Elenor Panes, 41, allegedly met with undercover police officers along Posadas Avenue for a drug deal.

The suspects were handcuffed by police after they accepted P9,000 in marked money.

Criminal charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act were filed against the suspects.
