MANILA, Philippines — A 13-year-old girl and an official of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) were gunned down in Agoncillo, Batangas and Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, respectively, on Wednesday.
Identified only as Jenny, a Grade 8 student, the girl was on her way to the Banyaga National High School at 6 a.m. when an unidentified man appeared and shot her in the head. She died at the scene.
Witnesses said the gunman fled on a motorcycle toward an unknown direction.
Meanwhile, Christiari Angela Aragoncillo, logistics management officer of the BARMM Ministry of Social Services and Development, was driving her Toyota Veloz when she was waylaid in Barangay Semba.
Aragoncillo’s office mate, Norhano Ado, was wounded in the attack.
Investigations into the killings are underway.
