MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has announced the schedule of the closure of the runway at the Davao International Airport due to emergency repairs.

CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the airport administration implemented its emergency repair of the runway for 15 days starting on April 14.

The runway will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m.

The work involves removal of damaged pavement, laying of asphalt and repainting of runway markings.

Apolonio said that from the original six hours, the closure period was reduced to four hours per day to minimize the effects on airline operations.

Due to the repair, flag carrier Philippine Airlines adjusted its flight schedules between Manila and Davao.

All other flights to and from Davao will follow their published schedules.

Passengers will be notified of any change in their flight schedules.

The repair schedule was stated in a notice to airmen issued by the CAAP.
