Businessman held over shooting

MANILA, Philippines — A businessman is in police custody after he shot and wounded one of three people who entered his property in Pangil, Laguna on Wednesday.

The suspect, who was identified only as Gilbert, surrendered to the police following the incident in Barangay Galalan at 10:20 a.m.

Police said Danilo Petratche, 57; Lanie Petratche, 48, and Julius Tropicales, 30, entered the property of the suspect.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a .45-caliber pistol  following an argument with the three and opened fire, hitting the elder Petratche.

The suspect is being held on complaints of frustrated homicide, attempted homicide and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
