MANILA, Philippines — After 35 years in public service, Department of Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag is retiring from the DOH on April 15.

At the flag-raising rites yesterday, DOH officials and employees lauded Tayag for his service.

“On behalf of the entire department, I thank Undersecretary Eric Tayag for serving the health sector for more than three decades,” Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said.

Before he became DOH undersecretary, Tayag served as chief epidemiologist, spokesman and chief information officer of the department.

He will be replaced by Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia as head of the DOH Public Health Services Cluster.
