MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers intercepted three kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P20.4 million in Pasay City on Monday afternoon.
The illegal drugs, which were declared as whey protein supplements, were seized during an interdiction operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center along Domestic Road at around 5 p.m., the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said in a report.
Mohammad Bagatao, a 51-year-old resident of Quezon City, was arrested after he received the package.
The suspect’s three identification cards were seized from him.
Bagatao is being held on charges of importation of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, two drug suspects were arrested and shabu valued at P95,200 was seized in Caloocan City on Monday morning.
The suspects, whom police did not identify, were arrested during a sting in Barangay 160 at around 2:40 a.m.
The suspects were caught with 14 grams of shabu and P6,500 in marked money.
