Leyte town mayor’s driver hurt in shooting

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — A driver of Mayor Remedio Veloso of San Isidro, Leyte was wounded in a shooting in Alangalang town on Thursday.

The wounded was identified as Ranel Reubal. His companion Carlo Pauligue was unharmed.

The two were in a Toyota pickup when unidentified men in a Nissan Navarra shot their vehicle in Barangay Dapdap.

In an interview with GMA Regional TV, Veloso, who was not in the car, said he believes he was the target of the attack.
