MANILA, Philippines — Muslims and Christians should promote compassion, generosity and unity during the observance of the holy month of Ramadan, Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. said.

In a message, Galvez said Ramadan should “bring greater peace, more blessings and spiritual growth to members of the Islamic faith.”

“Let us lend a hand to all those who need help and work together to build a more just and humane society,” he said.

Galvez said the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity is one with the Muslim community in the observance of Ramadan.

“This occasion holds immense significance for the Muslim faith, as it is marked by fasting, prayer and acts of charity, all of which embody the core values of Islam,” he said.

He said Muslims embark on a journey of spiritual renewal during Ramadan.

“As they fast from dawn until sunset, they emphatize with the less fortunate, as they strengthen their bond with Allah,” Galvez said. ”Through sincere worship and acts of kindness, believers deepen their faith and seek forgiveness for past wrongdoings.”
