2 bettors to split P70.8 million lotto prize

MANILA, Philippines — Two lucky bettors will share the P70.8 million jackpot in the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Monday.

Melquiades Robles, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager and vice chairman of the board, said one of the winners bought a ticket at a lotto outlet on Blumentritt street in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The other winner bought a lotto ticket in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.

The bettors guessed the winning combination 29-07-09-20-03-26, which carried a total prize of P70,879,526.

The PCSO said 125 bettors won P32,000 each after picking five digits of the winning combination.

Lotto winnings are subject to a 20-percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law.

The Mega Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
