Woman, daughter dead in Marikina road crash

MANILA, Philippines —   A woman and her daughter died in a vehicular accident in Marikina City on Wednesday.

The road mishap occurred in Barangay San Roque at past 6 p.m., an employee at the barangay hall said in a phone interview.

Authorities declined to disclose the victims’ identities upon the request of the bereaved family.

A report on ABS-CBN said the fatalities were a 74-year-old woman and her daughter, 42.

Reports said the victims’ vehicle crashed into the gate of a house in Barangay San Roque.

Rescuers brought the victims to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Police said they are looking into the cause of the accident.
