MANILA, Philippines — Personnel of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday inspected several transport hubs and terminals in Metro Manila to monitor the peace and order situation ahead of Christmas.

NCRPO chief Lt. Col. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. led the inspection of several bus and jeepney terminals and train stations in Pasay City, Manila and Quezon City.

Apart from transport hubs, the NCRPO also conducted inspections of other places of convergence, such as churches, markets and malls.

Among the public places NCRPO officials visited include Baclaran Church, Quiapo Church, Quiapo Flea Market and Gateway Mall.

According to Nartatez, the NCRPO intensified police visibility across the metropolis to ensure the safety and security of the public during the holiday festivities.

Police personnel have also been deployed in Metro Manila as early as Dec. 1 to patrol and respond to emergencies.

“This timely undertaking ensures that all areas meet the required standards for orderliness and security preparations to maintain safe transportation for the drivers and passengers… This also serves as an instrument to eliminate the occurrence of various crimes and other related incidents,” Nartatez said.
