Man held for P.4 million theft of jewelry, cash
MANILA, Philippines — A man accused of stealing P385,000 worth of jewelry and cash from a motorist was arrested in Quezon City on Monday.
Jeofrance Rombaoa, 29, was apprehended by Fairview police station operatives at his residence in Barangay Bagong Silangan at around 12:30 a.m., Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said.
Rombaoa was arrested after closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed he was the one who stole the items from a Toyota Fortuner last Nov. 27.
The victim recounted to police that a witness told them it was Rombaoa who stole his jewelry and money.
When he reviewed the CCTV footage, he saw Rombaoa as the culprit.
A follow-up operation led to the suspect’s arrest. Rombaoa is being held on charges of violating Presidential Decree 1612 or the Anti-Fencing Law.
