761,14 delisted 4Ps families to get aid anew
MANILA, Philippines — At least 761,140 family-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps who were delisted from the program from January to September will receive cash assistance again.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary for strategic communications Romel Lopez said the payout of cash grants for the delisted 4Ps beneficiaries would resume on Nov. 30.
“We will resume the payout for the withheld health grants... It will be non-compliance-based,” Lopez said. “The education grants for the same period shall be based on the compliance of the beneficiaries and would be processed starting February 2024.”
Aside from the cash grants, eligible beneficiaries will receive rice subsidy.
The DSWD withheld the cash aid following a revalidation by the 4Ps National Project Management Office (NPMO) to determine who among the beneficiaries are no longer poor.
A reassessment by the NPMO showed that of the 1,158,249 households identified as non-poor, 4,242 households were found to be in Level 1 or survival level; 756,898 in Level 2 or subsistence level, and 339,660 households in Level 3 or self-sufficient.
“The reassessed households belonging to Levels 1 and 2 have been retained in the list of beneficiaries while those in the Level 3 will undergo the exit process,” Lopez said.
The retroactive payout of the reassessed qualified households is provided under a memorandum issued by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
Lopez said exiting 4Ps beneficiaries can still avail themselves of other programs for indigent families.
The 4Ps is a human development program that provides social protection, social assistance, social development and other complementary support services in partnership with concerned agencies, local government units and other stakeholders.
It aims to improve the health and nutrition, education and socioeconomic aspects of Filipino households.
