Truck plows into houses in Quezon; 1 dead

TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon, Philippines — A person died while three others were injured when a truck plowed into houses along Quirino Highway in Barangay San Francisco on Tuesday night.

Benito Recaña, 76, died at the scene.

A woman, the truck driver and his helper, who have yet to be identified, were injured and brought to a hospital for treatment.

Probers said a wing van truck loaded with 16 tons of watermelons rammed two houses when the driver, Virjulito Mirasol, lost control of the wheel while driving down the road.
