MANILA, Philippines — Up to 104 wanted criminals have been arrested in Quezon City, a police official announced yesterday.

Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the fugitives were apprehended from Sept. 13 to 19.

Maranan said the fugitives have warrants of arrest for illegal drugs, violence against women and children, estafa, qualified theft, murder, homicide, illegal gambling and physical injuries.

He said the law enforcement operations were successful because of the careful planning, intelligence collection and commitment of the police units.

Police have intensified the operations against suspected criminals as part of security preparations for the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Maranan lauded the support and cooperation of the public, which played a crucial role in providing information that led to the identification and capture of wanted criminals.
