BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Two Dutch tourists reported missing while trekking in Banaue on Saturday have been found.

Roy Schouten, 22, and his brother Rich, 19, were found in Sitio Lamagan in Barangay Cambulo, according to Ifugao police director Col. Davvy Limmong.

He said the siblings suffered minor injuries and have been provided treatment.

Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Banaue and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office as well as civilian volunteers scoured the mountain ranges of Barangays Cambulo and Pula to find the foreigners.

The Dutch tourists were brought to Manila in a commercial passenger bus.

The emergency hotline of the Banaue police received a call at around 5:18 p.m. on Saturday from a man, who introduced himself as Schouten, saying he and his brother lost their way as they were heading toward Barangay Pula from Barangay Cambulo.

A resident told police the tourists had rejected a guide that they offered.
