MANILA, Philippines — Three persons were arrested in Nueva Ecija on Thursday for violating the gun ban in connection with the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Police said Emerson Garcia and Emmanuel Cruz were arrested in drug stings in Gapan City and Talavera, respectively, for possession of a .38-caliber revolver and a caliber .45 pistol aside from shabu.

Elmer Lazo, who was on a motorcycle, was allegedly caught in possession of an air gun at a checkpoint along the San Jose-Rizal Road in Barangay Villa Joson in San Jose City.
