Motorbike rams road barrier; 2 dead

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died when their motorcycle rammed a concrete barrier in Barangay Pila in Laoag, Ilocos Norte at past midnight yesterday.

Jay Battulayan, 23, and Kevin Leo Alibuyog, 25, were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

In Baguio City, three persons cheated death when a taxi and two private cars were pinned by a wayward 10-wheeler truck that fell on its side.

The truck driver, Roger Tulaban, 41, said he lost control of the wheel while driving uphill.

The victims, who have yet to be identified, are recuperating in a hospital.
