Western Visayas’ most wanted fugitive caught in Makati

MANILA, Philippines — The most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested in Makati City on Thursday.

Elfran Bagatnan, 31, was collared in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo at around 12:09 p.m., Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft said.

Bagatnan is the subject of arrest warrants for murder issued by two courts in Barotac Viejo in Iloilo, which refused to grant bail.

The suspect’s arrest is part of the Philippine National Police’s campaign targeting high-value criminals and organized crime networks.

The Western Visayas police said Bagatnan is a leader of a gun-for-hire ring operating in Iloilo province. — Marc Jayson Cayabyab
