MANILA, Philippines — A katana-wielding online shopper allegedly robbed a delivery rider who brought the product he ordered in Quezon City on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said the robbery occurred in Barangay Commonwealth at around 2 p.m.
Quoting a police report, Torre said Rvee Audrey dela Cruz, 31, ordered a Seiko wristwatch worth P15,000 through an online shop.
The delivery rider, a 23-year-old man, delivered the wristwatch to an address Dela Cruz mentioned.
When the victim arrived at the address, Dela Cruz showed up with a katana and robbed the rider.
The victim escaped and told his employer about the incident. They later reported the robbery to the QCPD Station 6.
Police arrested Dela Cruz at his residence and recovered the katana, which is about 27 inches long, and the wristwatch.
