Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — An aircraft carrying nine passengers skidded off the runway at the Palanan airport in Isabela yesterday morning.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said a Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain aircraft operated by Cyclone Airways experienced a runway excursion at about 10:13 a.m.

All the passengers of the aircraft safely deplaned and were attended to, the CAAP said. There were no reported injuries.

Normal operations at the airport resumed at about 11:23 a.m.

The disabled aircraft was parked at the ramp.

Probers from the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board were deployed on site to look into the incident and supervise the extraction of the aircraft.

The CAAP said it is working closely with the operator of the aircraft for investigation and resolution of the incident. – Ralph Edwin Villanueva
