MMDA: No changes in number coding
MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has not made any changes in the number coding scheme.
The MMDA made the clarification after posts circulated on social media that the agency has updated the unified vehicular volume reduction policy.
The social media post, which the MMDA tagged as “false news,” said motorists would not be allowed to drive along major roads in Metro Manila twice a week.
The new number coding scheme will supposedly be implemented starting May, according to online posts.
The MMDA maintained that the number coding scheme remains from 7 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays.
The policy prohibits vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2 on Monday; 3 and 4 on Tuesday; 5 and 6 on Wednesday; 7 and 8 on Thursday, and 9 and 0 on Friday.
