MANILA, Philippines — Over 4,600 police officers will be deployed in Metro Manila to secure the Holy Week commemoration, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
In a dzBB interview on Wednesday night, NCRPO spokesman Lt. Col. Luisito Andaya Jr. said 4,690 police officers would be fielded starting Palm Sunday until Easter Sunday to secure churches in the metropolis.
There are at least 356 places of worship in Metro Manila where the Catholic faithful are expected to converge for Holy Week, Andaya said.
He assured the public that the police would ensure their safety during Holy Week.
